From Toronto, Canada here. Went here with some family friends from ballarat. They had the seafood basket I think and I had the fish and chips (shared a deep fried shrimp with me though as seen in pic) with barramundi fish. This is better than any I had in Canada which generally left me in a bad food coma after. The tartar sauce was also better than any I've had. I highly recommend.

The fish and chips are best here, don't bother with other places they don't look as good and you get your moneys worth here! Just don't feed the birds as they will come for your food, there's signs everywhere but people still did unfortunately. But the food and beer are sensational on a hot day, calamari was amazing

Great Local Fish & Chips located in the heart of Lorne. The food we ordered was fresh and tasty (4.5) definitely great for sharing as the portions are quite large. In terms of price definitely reasonable considering it’s located in a tourist location. Appreciate the owner remembering the customers orders without tables numbers. Highly recommend if you are driving by the Great Ocean Road and hungry for lunch ! *** If you are sitting outside beware of the friendly cockatoos as they love leftover's ***

The food was great, good quality and came out quickly. The batter was crispy and light. Well seasoned chips. The service was average. The only downside was the price is a little bit high.

Nice location on the main street. Seats inside and out. Sulphur crested cuckoo's will be your friends.

Honestly shocked at how low the rating is. We’ve eaten here twice in the last year and it’s always been great value for money. Wish I’d taken photos earlier, but I was super hungry after a long day at the beach — definitely recommend this place.

Honestly I was kinda doubtful cause the reviews were so mixed, but this was so good! The chips were absolutely beautiful, this fish... stunning. So crispy, so airy, so light. And of course the star of the show, the tartar sauce. I need to come back here just for it. Don't listen to those other reviews saying it was 'bad' or wtv cause this is the best fish and chips I've ever had. They also had really cute bird repellers which were just water in spray bottles, but were quite cute to use.

We went to Captain Hooked for dinner looking for some fresh seafood. We had a great experience — the oysters were amazing! Super fresh and big. We also ordered the seafood basket with prawns, battered fish, scallops, chips, and salad. It was nice but pretty average overall. The service was good, though also a bit average. I have to admit, the bathroom had a really nice ambience — with sea sounds playing through a speaker, which felt relaxing! I would come back though.
